Sometimes it was easy for Kono to forget that all kinds of different people could be here. From other times, and even other worlds. It was a lot for her to get used to. Actually, this whole place kind of was. They couldn't go home, and no one really knew who'd brought them there or why. She was constantly worried about what was happening back home. Had Adam made it to Shanghai? She wanted to believe he had, but she really couldn't be sure. She wouldn't be sure until she went back, if she ever did. And she hoped she would because she was made to be near the ocean, not completely landlocked with only a video game to satisfy her need to surf. Being a cop here was a joke too, almost nothing ever happened.
"How are you today?" Kono asked her. She hadn't met the girl in person before, but she was sure they'd talked on the network or something. Elizabeth seemed to be so proper, but it made sense because of the time she was from. This had to be a very strange place to her. It would have been that way to anyone, but especially someone who was completely out of their time. Kono was grateful for being from the same year as it was in this place, at least. If she'd been from the past, as Elizabeth clearly was...it would be even more overwhelming.
