Alex was pretty excited to have someone to spar with. She knew she could have asked Michael or Nikita, but she didn't want to bother them all the time. She was really focused on staying in shape, and working out only did so much. They wouldn't be here forever, probably...they could be returned to their real lives at any moment. And she wanted to make sure that she was still highly trained. She'd gotten a little lax in that department, though this did inspire her to think about a punching bag. She could put it in the extra bedroom or something. Alex didn't really know Eliot yet, but they seemed to get along okay. He was funny, and he'd come to her movie night, which had been cool. Alex was making a lot of friends here, and that did help her to to pass the time. And it was good to bond with others, while they were here. Everyone was in the same situation. And it had been good for Alex here. And it was definitely much better for Michael and Nikita. They were from earlier than her, but they were in serious danger back home, especially Nikita. So the longer they'd stayed here, it was better it was for them. They didn't have to look over their shoulder here, and that was very different than what they were used to. Alex had sort of settled into a normal routine, she ran every morning, and most evenings too. She cleaned the house and worked out in the afternoon. Most of her other time was spent reading, watching a movie, or sleeping. And she was nearly always listening to music, especially when she ran. She'd been attending college in the fall so she would need to alter her routine somewhat, but she would worry about that then. If this gym thing worked out, maybe she could work that in too. She hadn't really been out that much, except going to people's houses. She'd explored the town a bit when she first got here, but she hadn't really done much since then. Alex headed over to the gym to meet Eliot. He seemed like a nice enough guy, even if she didn't know much about him yet. He hadn't been here long, and it seemed like he could definitely use some friends. And if he was any good, he could keep her on her toes. They could spar and snark at each other or something, that sounded like it could be fun. He was still insisting on seeing her Tom Cruise impression. Maybe someday he would. She didn't know if she'd beat him here or not, so she just went inside and looked around. |
