"You always look at the bad instead of the good, Erik," she went on, setting the book aside and taking one of his hands so she could kiss it and hold it against her chest. "You're doing wonderful with Gustave. Yes, I've noticed you aren't always comfortable, but you do your best and that's all anyone could ever ask for. He adores you, darling, as he should."
