"Weird," she smiled, "But not all together bad." She took a bite of her own eggs, careful to chew and swallow before speaking again. Just because he was a terrible slob didn't mean she had to be.
"You'll tell me more, though? You'll catch me up on everything that's happened? I know it won't all be good, nothing ever is, but maybe it'll give me something to, well, hope for, too. Like knowing I get better. It makes all this easier, knowing I'll be stronger someday. And I...I want to know what you've been doing."
She leaned forward, folding her hands under her chin as she smiled at him.
"We're together in this, as in everything, aren't we?"
