we'll let our howls fill the sky
WHO | Farren & Open to any of the Summers pack
WHERE | Packlands
WHEN | Evening/Night
She had felt the full pulling at her all day, a sensation not unlike adrenaline pumping through her veins. It made it difficult to concentrate on anything at all and sitting still was out of the question. She tried amusing herself that morning with catching a few B movies on the SciFi channel, but in the end she had to shut off her television and find anything else to do. She helped prepare lunch and devoured a healthy portion herself before she went out to the packlands. The rest of the family had other things to do, she knew but she didn't mind spending some time there by herself. Farren spent hours in her wolf form, sprinting through the trees and large rocks just to expel the energy that filled her veins.
By the time she began to detect the scent of other wolves, the sky was already dark. Farren padded towards them, initially thinking that she would just run right up and begin to play. Halfway to the wolf she smelled, though, she got a different sort of idea. She slowed down and moved downwind of the other wolf. Her footsteps were soft and she was aware of every leaf and branch stuck in the moist ground. Though her steps were ginger and soft, she took each one with an assured sense of confidence and not once did she take a step back. When the other wolf was in sight, she lurched forward. She didn't wait to see who it was exactly. The smell was familiar so she knew it was pack; she didn't check the air long enough to try and identify who her new playmate was.
Paws first, Farren collided with the other wolf and they toppled over and rolled into a sticky mud puddle. She flipped herself over and growled playfully at the other wolf, her body low to the ground. Her muscles were coiled like a tightened spring, just waiting for release.
