if you can't come to the party, we'll bring the party to you!
WHO | Zoie, Josh, & Harper
WHERE | U of M hospital
WHEN | Early Afternoon
Since driving Zoie to the hospital, Harper had tried to visit, but every time her friend was still unconscious. She wanted nothing more to be there when Zoie woke up, smiling brightly with a bag of treats in one hand, but between the hospital schedules and running the bakery, she was unable to return to the hospital. So when Zoie texted her, Harper felt a surge of relief at knowing her friend was alright. Or as well as she could be given the circumstances. While the cupcakes were baking, Harper walked over to Josh's to make sure he was game for visiting the hospital and her tagging along. Except, when they were ready to leave Harper dropped the bomb that she had also promised Zoie a book; their journey included a short trip to the bookstore where she found a neat little book on the different kinds of fairies. She wondered just how accurate it was considering that it was published pre-Light of May.
Harper almost skipped into the hospital with a small bag in one hand and a white cardboard box in the other. "You have to help me keep an eye out for Zoie's mom," she looked over at Josh and absently tugged at the sleeve of her jacket. "Zoie said we might be able to bribe her with cookies." She gestured to the white box in her hand with a slight shake. They were really close to Zoie's room and had yet to see Mrs. Irving, but that didn't mean that they were in the clear. It probably just meant that Zoie's mom was hanging around in the room with her.
"Oh, and thanks for the ride. And the shopping trip." Her voice was ringing with humor as her grin widened into a crooked sort of smirk. She doubted he'd appreciated the short notice, but he'd taken it in stride and that was the important thing. "You's a pal." She giggled and scrunched up her nose as she spoke, making her words sound nasally. Zoie's room was just around the corner and she stopped just shy. "Make sure the coast is clear!" She urged Josh with her voice low. She had nothing against Mrs. Irving personally; she had always just been very intimidated by her. Something about the severe looks she gave sent Harper straight back to second grade.
"Do you see her?"
