In the middle of September WHO: Julian & August WHEN: Late night WHERE: Summers Pack territory, Packlands WARNINGS: Possible copious amounts of swearing from Julian because he has issues
It was all hands on deck at the school, which was completely understandable considering the scale of the attack, but that didn't mean Julian had to be happy about it. As far as he (and everyone else) could tell, there was nothing any mortal (or immortal, probably, but Julian didn't really know if they even gave a crap) could do except stare at the barrier and the school and worry about everyone trapped inside. Julian, of course, did not mind at all considering he wanted to be as close as possible should anyone find a way inside so he could rescue Lotti. The downside was that with nothing to do but sit, he had time to think. And thinking was one of Julian's least favorite pasttimes. He had too many memories, too much guilt to enjoy long moments of silence. And that was pretty much all today was. The police force was in charge of crowd control; he was only to step in if a situation got too restless. It only took him fourteen minutes into his shift when an irate father came storming up and made a scene. Julian laid him out after the guy gave Julian a black eye. His captain then decided he'd had enough of crowd control and sent him to stand by the truck. And not move. His entire shift.
Once that bullcrap was over, Julian had stripped off his gear and changed into civvies for the drive back to the Packlands. He was still fuming and the bruise was still there (though fading away quickly enough to not be visible in the morning) but he had homework to do. Apparently, his professors didn't give a shit if the high school was under attack or not and he still had some homework due this weekend that he really should get started on. As he drove into his parents' driveway, however, he saw that only his parents were home and he didn't really want to have another row with his mother. He'd already done enough yelling at her to last a lifetime. Getting out of his truck and looking over down where August lived, he noticed that his best friend's lights were on. Might as well pay him a visit. August would probably want an update on the situation at the school, if Trent hadn't already beaten him to it. Of course, Trent was probably off gallivanting with his human sweetheart, so who the hell knew? Either way, house rules demanded he eat dinner in the dining room no matter what time it was and he wasn't in the mood to play nice with the parental units. Tucking his Biology book under one arm, Julian set off at a quick jog towards August's house. Once he got to the front door, he knocked loudly. Yeah, doorbells were all the rage but Julian had never seen the need for them.
