Okay, so maybe someone else would have been more active on the getting to know the new wolf in the house front, but Farren hated the idea of small talk just to get around the awkward I-Don't-Know-You phase. She was more likely to thrust someone into a conversation that went over their head and they had to do their best to either sink or swim; which might have been why she wasn't so good with the gently making friends concept. The friends she had, though, she knew were worth their salt and she didn't really have to worry about getting on their nerves (too much) or offending them. And she was treating Sam the exact same way. She knew his name, scent, and appearance from passing, but speaking to him just hadn't really been something she'd been concerned with. Now? Now she thought making him play a game with her would be all the getting to know she needed -- and if it helped her out in the long run? That was just great.
She was already halfway down the hall when his question hit her ears and she spun around, balancing herself with her fingers against the wall. "Yes. You know. Apocalypse, end of the world, lack of civilization. Zombies as in undead creeps who try to eat your brain matter." She turned her head and gave him a sideways glance with a raised eyebrow. Did he actually believe her? "It's a game," she said slowly, unaware and uncaring of the condescending tone her voice took on when she spoke. She wasn't trying to be mean or malicious; it was just how the words came out. "Just come on and I'll show you. It's easy." She continued on towards the living room, her dark hair spinning out behind her as she turned again. Farren's pace was as swift as it had been on her way to find Sam, partially because she was eager to get back to the game, but also because she didn't feel the need to slow down for anyone, let alone the new wolf on the block.
Once in the living room, she retrieved a second controller and headset from the entertainment center. She made sure the battery was full charged and plugged everything up that needed to be before she handed the controller to Sam and gestured for him to sit on the sofa. She hopped over to her spot and strapped herself into her own headset and started fiddling with the controls to get them ready for a new match. "Have you ever played before?" She asked, glancing up at Sam. It was the one statement she had made that had no particular tone. It was simply a question that she needed to know the answer to.
