Neville forced himself to think like an Auror, and not a panicked lover. He made the right Floo calls, informed the right people, and did all the right things. He filled out paperwork and called in friends ot help check for him. He informed Andrew, even though he knew the other man wouldn't take it well, and asked Gran to stay with Matt's father.
Then he'd gone out to search for himself.
There was no trail. Nothing to tell him where Matt had gone. Or who had taken him.
He tried to tell himself that no news was good news, that no news meant he was still alive, but Neville had never been very good at thinking positively. He would try though. For Matthew.
It was well after midnight when he finally gave in to Robard's demand that he sleep, but he couldn't make himself crawl into his and Matt's bed. Instead, he curled up on the couch, and tried to sleep.
It was useless though, and he stared up at the ceiling for a long time. He was still staring when the note arrived.
