"Thanks!" Sarah called after her as she disappeared to make the tea. She looked around the bright and airy bakery, taking in their layout and display units. They really did have some lovely cakes. She smiled at Susan as the other girl came back, taking her tea cup and sipping slowly.
"Well, baking certainly is safer...usually. My Mum has a place like this, you know? Down in Devon. I've helped her there a fair few times, and have the burn scars to prove it," she smirked slightly to show Susan she was mostly joking. "I always love bakeries though...they feel like home to me."
She set down her cup and started unraveling the edge of her cinnamon bun, breaking off a bite and popping it in her mouth. "Mmm...oh, that is good. You've got a real talent for this." She took another sip of tea before continuing. "That longing for home is what drew me back. I loved the traveling, but it had been more than long enough on the road. I did really enjoy getting to spend so much time on my photography though."
She gave Susan a Look to let her know that she'd not missed the fact that Susan had avoided her question.
