It's Deja Vu All Over Again Date: September 10, 2005 Characters: Sarah Fawcett, Terry Boot Location: The public park in Diagon Alley Private/Public: Private Rating: PG (PG-13, Mr. Boot?) Warnings: N/A Summary: Sarah spends a sunny late Friday afternoon in the park with a book, whereupon Terry happens by. They've been here before, but not quite like this.
Sarah sighed happily as she stepped out the front door of Flourish and Blotts. Though she'd had to get up quite early this morning to come in and help with inventory before the shop opened, there were perks - such as the fact that it was only a bit after three and she was already off for the day. Even better was the fact that she'd somehow wound up with a clear schedule for the weekend and wouldn't have another shift until Monday. It might be a good weekend to swing home for a bit, see how things are at the farm, she mused, realizing she hadn't really spent that much time with her parents since being back in the country.
But for the moment, she had a few hours of sunlight, temperatures that were still rather warm for the season, a new-to-her Georgette Renier book (purchased on staff discount) in her bag, and nowhere in particular to be. Feeling a craving for some ice cream, she made her way down the Alley to Fortescue's and got a double-scoop cone of peppermint and chocolate. Savoring her end of the week treat, she meandered to the small park set off on one side of the Alley and settled herself down on a semi-secluded bench. As she took her book out of her bag and got ready to have a nice long read, a memory floated unbidden to the forefront of her mind of another day about six years ago that was much like this - ice cream, a bench, a good book, even the same park. The only thing lacking was a certain fellow Ravenclaw out for a run.
Shaking her head to clear it, she smiled at her own sentimentality and cracked open her book, continuing to take the occasional lick of her ice cream cone.
