"It helps to have a handle on the city's purse strings," Spencer said with a bit of a smirk. "I'll win this particular battle, even if it doesn't earn me any friends." She didn't need those anyway. Allies, sometimes. But not friends.
Shaking her head, Spencer ran a hand through her hair. "A rogue pyro who has no control is all I heard. We have more than a few of those- heaven forbid they all get colds at the same time. We'll never recover."
She shut the binder and filed it back where it belonged, attaching a red note to the housing form that promised she'd be in to talk about the change before setting it on the desk front and center. "I hope those people have found Liberty already." She opened her mouth to volunteer for a few hours, maybe to help tutor, then shut it quickly. They would be better off without her help, she knew that. "We'll find them as long as they're here," she finished lamely.
