Re: Packed to the rafters
"School is out for the day, but I can talk to the teachers when I drop the kids off on Monday morning," Alyssa responded thoughtfully, "That will give them an opportunity to think it over during the day, then if anyone is willing to help us out, they can tell me when I comeback to walk the kids home in the afternoon. I'm sure an additional stipend would be helpful, if you can arrange it… Though if it's too difficult, hopefully we'll be able to find some good hearted volunteers. In a way, that would be better."
"Ah, well, the credits go directly to the kids themselves... and most kids don't spend their money on food, or not nutritious food, in any case," She explained with a wry smile. There were still kinks in the system that needed to be ironed out, obviously, "We have to make sure there's always something healthy for the kids to eat."
And mostly that came directly out of her and Carol's own pockets, though she didn't mention that to Spencer, not wanting to complain, "I used to help run a soup kitchen and homeless shelter, before, so I know how to stretch supplies, but things are getting stretched a little too thin, even for me."
