Alyssa regarded the brusque woman with a slightly raised eyebrow - after all, they'd both run into eachother, and she had apologized for her part in the accident. what was the attitude for? She sent the woman a wry smirk, "Yeah, perhaps we ought to install mirrors where the halways intersect this way."
"I have a problem... I'm housing forty-two kids in a place that at absolute maximum capacity should only hold thirty-six, and eleven more children showed up today." Alyssa explained the situation as concisely as she could, conscious that she was taking up the other woman's time, "We need more space, desperately. But, when I tried to apply for temporary housing for some of the older ones - just until we've found foster families for some of the kids, the application was rejected. Something about lack of funding. I can't turn them away, they're just kids. Orphans. It's getting colder out there every night, and they need to be cared for..."
