That's true and I get the appeal of having a rounded cast but if that is the only reason then no. I know I've created a HP char myself who's a POC because I wanted the challenge of writing one though I based it around what I was familiar with but also cause I had mostly white chars at the time too so it was both? Do I do her complete justice? Probably not cause I'm not a Half Asian/Half Australian Witch who lives in Britain but trying is important (and I've had no one say I was off and I hope that someone would).
And yeah I brought that up cause of this second point and I agree. There is only so much you can do in terms of plot before it gets boring. I get why it upsets you but it is nice at the same time to see the minorities getting more traction? Though yes as you say if it's just to make your cast list less white then that isn't a good thing but if it's about the challenge and exploring stuff then I'm happy enough for people to do it.
