She had gone to the top deck to get away for a few minutes. Becca loved her daughter more than anything else in the world, as she had freely told Lily every day of her life for the past six years. Love was not the issue. Sanity, peace of mind, zen - these were the things, the states of being, that had been lacking in Becca's life ever since the hostage situation. Lily was finally sound asleep that afternoon in their cabin, and Becca took any moment that her daughter was able to pass out these days as a blessing.
