Really, the absence of a vase didn't bother her at all, it was the presence of flowers that mattered the most. The fact that he'd thought of her, and taken an extra few minutes to do so, instead of merely letting his mind wander before coming over, was enough for her own peace of mind. Ebony leaned up to kiss him softly, barely brushing her lips to his before moving away and upsetting a wine box she'd once been given for her birthday (the curling iron that was inside of it fell to the desk with a dull thud) so that she could put the bouquet in something, even if it was only temporary.
"Ordering in sounds fine to me," She replied, straightening out a couple of blossoms before turning back to him, "I kind of like just being with you," The blush returned (though not as bright) to her face as she moved past him to sit on the edge of her bed, "What sounds good, do you think?"
