Danny could tell Matty was already becoming flustered because of his thoughtless self. Good job for being overly friendly. He desperately wanted Matty to feel comfortable around him. He didn't want the awkwardness of the crush to put a wedge between them, likely as it was. Hopefully, the alcohol would help calm his nerves, he thought.
Leaning over one of his boxes, he pulled out a pair of neatly, tightly wrapped wine glasses. Mentally, he rejoiced that neither of them had cracked or chipped on the way over. Plucking the wrapping away, he offered one to Matty. "Shall we cut to the chase?" Brows waggled jokingly, free hand feeling about the bottom of the box for his corkscrew. "Or maybe I'm just selfishly eager to enjoy my present."
