Since Becca had already given her statement and seemed in no condition to repeat it at that time, Link decided to go ahead. He made sure she was capable of sitting on the floor by herself before standing up. Although Becca was still crying, she had managed to gain some control and was much quieter now, so Link began to speak.
"I noticed that the Chief Officer, er my boss, well I mean, Yvonne Bell, stopped answering her cell phone the other day. She wasn't in her office when she was supposed to be on duty, and she didn't respond to any knocks on her cabin door either. I thought she might have been out hiding somewhere, but I looked at all of her usual places like the gym, or the ice cream shop, and she wasn't there. Then, this morning I heard about Lily's kidnapping, and I thought I should report her absence to security. It's just not like her to not answer her phone or be in the office," Link informed Daniela. Yvonne had even told him herself the other night over dinner that she didn't get out of her cabin much, except for work. He didn't really want to admit that to Daniela, however. His private life was just that. It wasn't any of her business. Truth be told, he didn't want to know what she would think of him dating his boss. "It's been 24 hours since she was last seen, and I've been calling her a lot," he added, just so Daniela would know that it wasn't merely a case of him not being able to locate Yvonne's whereabouts. Of course, why he'd know Yvonne's private numbers, or be looking for her so persistently in the first place unless they were more than platonic didn't really register for Link. He was too upset himself to think of those details.
"Is there anything else you need to know?" he asked her softly.
