Yeah. There was - in the musical most definitely - gratitude and sympathy. More of the latter (and excessive guilt trips THANKS A LOT ERIK.) in the book, while in the musical she's...more manipulated by the "Music of the Night". Try and remember the time period, Mr. Webber and hte fact that Erik really couldn't have been as seductive as you portrayed him. I think in the musical, it's hard to read Christine's feelings for Raoul - but I'd agree she didn't love him as much as he did her. In the book, Christine is definitely that intense.
I play musical verse characters with a friend, can you tell I've had this argument before? It's really strange to argue the Christine-didn't-love-him side when you're playing Erik. *facepalm*
Ooh well, I've only heard two songs - the "Love Never Dies" is terrible, but I'll admit that I really like "Till I Hear You Sing Again" >_> It really works incarnate-wise. (My musical!Erik likes it, even if he even agrees LND is crap.)
