Regardless of whether Rook stopped or not, Dax would have taken it as an agreement. Sure, shooting things helped, but so did beating the crap out of someone else. Considering Rook took the clip out of the gun, Dax figured he didn't have to do anymore convincing. Then, he waited for Rook to be ready. He did a little stretching too so that his joints wouldn't lock up, but for the most part, he was prepared for Rook's first assault.
Normally, the other man played defense really well, but Dax anticipated that whatever had angered him would make him a little more impatient and reckless. The assumption paid off and Dax easily sidestepped Rook's first blow, practically dancing out of his way with a grin.
He came at Rook then, going for a lower blow toward his stomach, hoping to catch him off guard.
