Dee was not stupid. She knew the statistics about violence against women and violence against transwomen in particular. She'd made a point of being able to defend herself long enough to get away. She was more hand with a wand, but when that option was not available to her--like a muggle bar--her options were limited. While the brawl in Texas had nothing to do with her status as trans, the broken nose was enough to let her know that maybe she needed a bit more help in that area.
It had only been natural to ask Teddy for help. Not only was he an auror (a good one!), but she trusted him with things not even Victoire knew. Dee loved her sister, there was no doubt about it, but Victoire didn't know what it was like to be queer. To feel like your body was not quite your own. Could her sister empthaize? Yes, but she wouldn't know. So Teddy it was.
She didn't regret the decision, even when her felt like an overcooked noodled and promised more aches in the morning. Being a curse breaker meant that she needed to be in reasonable shape, but she still hated the whole working out business. She'd informed him as much, but he'd told her too bad. At least he made jokes and didn't seem to mind if she swore at him. Not that she'd stop if he did.
