She always found it tricky to narrow her focus to one area in particular, and thus she stuck to her rigid routine. Every time she visited, she stuck to a different department and spent at least two hours combing the shelves, flicking through old stock and new releases alike, and always left with a bagful of new items for her collection before staggering back towards the tube and her home in St John's Wood.
Today, she was exiting the Russian Bookshop with a new biography of a past President, with which she intended to compare to an English copy of the text loaned to her by her father. Her brain loved codes, patterns and numbers - translation was another step to the highly organised, logical mind. Learning some of another language in the process was a bonus, and Iona never thought to link this skill to her own intelligence. It seemed entirely normal to her.
