Sadie had dressed especially carefully for the festival in an icy blue and white dress that reminded her of the first fresh snowfalls in Boston. She'd tucked small white pearls in her hair to take place of flakes and finished the outfit with crisp white gloves.
She smiled as she made her way through the crowd, stopping to chat here and there, as she made her way to the buffet.
"It's lovely, isn't it?" she said to the person who stepped into line behind her.
