Paul watched James' reaction with amusement and thoroughly concealed arousal, laughing when James tugged him through the crowd, and thanking the chaperone for agreeing to tend James' violin.
"Dance," he agreed, turning James into his arms and smiling when the small orchestra turned to a waltz. Simple enough steps that he could focus on his partner rather than his dancing, with the added advantage that he could hold James closer than many of the more formal dances.
