Delivered to Effie
A neatly carved box, perfectly sized to fit the bobbins he made, with her name carved inside. A note's on top.

When may I see you?

Effie wasn't expecting anything at all, and was bent over her pillow carefully rearranging the threads of Ms. Hammermill's torn trim when the knock at the door interrupted her. She was fairly sure that the maid smirked at her expression, but couldn't quite bring herself to care, when the box itself was so beautiful, and the note made it perfectly clear who it had come from.

She nodded and murmured thanks to the maid, and carried the box over to the window to admire the carving, opening it carefully and smiling in delight to see her name inside, and to make the connection with the size, which was perfect to hold and protect her bobbins.

When? Oh, stars, now. No. Too immodest. Soon, though.

Setting the box securely on her dresser, she opened her writing case and composed a neat reply, sealing it and taking it down to the front desk to request delivery.

Mr. Ibis,

Thank you for the box, it is beautiful, and I cannot imagine how much time and work you have taken over it. My bobbins fit inside perfectly, and it looks just grand on my desk next to my bobbin winder.

I have a commission to be finished this afternoon - perhaps you would care to meet for a walk tomorrow morning?

Kind regards,
Effield Gallehawk
