Mandy smiled as Robert tugged on her robes again. "Mummy! Mummy! Nooow Please!" He said, sounding rather desperate, like any proper five year old did when he wanted something. She turned briefly to look at him.
"Just a moment, Robbie. Lets get Alex dressed and we'll be right there." She soothed him, laughing a little at the pout as she finished tugging on Alex's coat and checked to make sure Nicole hadn't tugged off her shoes again. Helping Alex with the zip, she stood then before picking up Nicole and balancing her on her hip. Holding a hand out to Alexander. "Go on then, monkey." she nodded at Robbie, who stepped up to the back door and opened it for the four of them.
Settled at the table outside, Mandy pulled Nicole onto her lap and left Alex to play at the edge near the grass whilst Robert had already found his toy broom. Watching her son hover a few inches off the ground, she smiled. It didn't go very fast, and she was making certain that he didn't go very far, but just watching him ride, the laughing, giggling, and then Alex standing up and cheering him on was enough to make her chest ache. He hovered, dipping a little then landing and 'flying' again, she could remember exactly what that was like. The joy of flying, the weightlessness and the sheer pleasure of being on a broom. Leaning close to Nicole's ear she kissed her cheek and pointed at her brother. "Look at him go, bean."
