Caroline studied him in the pale street light. She didn't know a lot about Stefan Salvatore. Sure, she knew about his dark side from Elena, the bits and pieces she had gathered together from her best friend and her own experience when he returned to town under Klaus's watchful eye. Elena had told her he had done terrible things when he was "the ripper", but Caroline had never experienced first hand. She wasn't there when he bit Elena in the commons of the high school on prank night. From the man she had come to know and respect, it was hard for her to picture someone like him being so very cold, blood lusting, and destructive. He had saved her life as a newborn vampire; how could someone like that be so dark and destructive?
"I bet it was pretty interesting back then", she commented with a half-smile. "I can't imagine." Part of her didn't want to inquire more about Stefan's time here, but part of her wanted too. Whatever he told her or didn't tell her, Caroline would face. She wasn't delicate as a flower, all pink, Caroline anymore. She could handle the darkness. "What was it like?"
