Caroline smiled to herself. He could play it off to everyone else if he wanted here, but they didn't know him like Caroline did. They were friends and friends could tell when friends needed something, anything to hold on to while they tried to pick up the pieces of themselves. She held on to him a moment long before stepping back and looking at him with concerned blue eyes. "Yeah, me too. Just when we think we are out of the storm something comes to sweep us all back in. And it just...never stops," she replied quietly. Deep down, Caroline didn't think it would ever stop. Normal wasn't in their cards.
Gently, she touched his arm and pushed her lips into a strong smile. It took more effort than she ever imagined such a small gesture could take. "Yes, we will", she agreed, hoping her voice was as strong and not weak. "We got each other and we can do this."
