When: June 20th - late morning
Where: Astoria's home
Warnings: None

Roger dropped daphne off at Astoria's place not long after they'd had breakfast together. She still wasn't sure how to feel about any of what he had told her, but when she saw her sister looking very much like Astoria only older, she decided that it must have been true what he'd said. She didn't see why he'd lie about any of it, of course, but staying much longer with him was sort of strange and confusing. Staying with Astoria, at least until things sorted themselves out, was probably a better option.
Once they were alone inside her house, Daphne looked around. "So I'm really dating Roger?" she asked, turning to look over her shoulder at Astoria. "He said I 'came out' last year. So you know that's weird for me to process, right? He says I won't be stuck this way. What if he's wrong?" It was still as terrifying a thought as it had been earlier that morning, but Daphne wanted a second opinion and at least she knew who Astoria was. Coming from her, things would be easier to accept.
--
When Astoria had gotten Roger's owl at first she thought it was some joke but still had replied telling him to bring Daphne over. She figured that'd prove whether he was telling the truth or not. As it turned out Roger really had been telling the truth; and Daphne was somehow, most assuredly, sixteen again. A fact that had her staring at her elder sister with some surprise before finally collecting herself and asking Roger about any details he might have about what happened; unfortunately, that wasn't much at all. Astoria told Roger she'd let him know if anything changed or if Daphne went back to being her proper age before saying goodbye.
This definitely hadn't been a situation she'd ever expected to find herself in, and she imagined it was even worse for Daphne. "Yeah, you are," she replied. Astoria had no doubt it was weird for Daphne to process, it was equally so for her to suddenly be older than her sister and for said sister to not remember anything past the age of sixteen. "I can imagine it must be pretty weird. I don't really have any answers but I'm sure Roger is right and this will sort itself out and you'll be right again."
No matter how much she wished it, she couldn't offer her sister and instant fix to the problem. The least she could though was ensure her sister was comfortable and, hopefully, not stressing out. "Do you want anything to eat or drink?" she asked. "Oh... though I suppose you already had breakfast?"
--
Astoria offering her food and drink told Daphne that she didn't know much more about what had happened or how to fix it than Roger did. She shook her head at the offer and worried her lower lip for a moment. "Roger made me breakfast so I'm okay," she said. Okay, though, was a relative statement. She was breathing, but Daphne wasn't sure that 'okay' was something she would ever be again.
She moved to the nearest sofa and sat down on it or, rather, flopped down upon it and groaned softly. "Nothing makes sense about any of this. If I'm really twenty-something, nearly thirty, how did I just lose so much of my life overnight?" she asked. "Not just physically, but mentally." She shook her head. "Roger says magical weirdness has been going on for a while and usually wears off after a little while. What was he talking about?"
--
"Oh, okay then," she responded. Astoria had been sure that would likely be the answer but she was still slightly disappointed since it had been the only useful thing she could think of doing for her sister at the moment. Though logically she knew having breakfast wouldn't have been an instant fix for making Daphne feel any better about the weird situation she was in.
"I don't know, Daph, sorry," she replied. "I wish I did have some kind of answer for you that would make sense of everything." Astoria chewed her lip in worry, wondering whether she really should tell Daphne of the weird magic that had been going on the past couple of months. She just didn't want to needlessly worry her sister any more than she already was. "I think Roger was referring to the um fact that... well, last month some people became incorporeal, like ghosts but they weren't dead. Or the month before there was some weird love potion incident," she explained, as she sat down on the sofa near Daphne's feet. "The month before the love potion thing, people could read each other's minds - only not really because it wasn't very accurate and... well, none of those things lasted more than a couple days."
"I'm sure everything will go back to normal soon enough, Daph," she told her sister. Astoria really really hoped that would definitely be the case.
--
Daphne wished that there was some way to make things go back to normal quicker. She'd much rather be in a world where she'd already done so many things than to be sixteen again when everything was confusing. Well, not that things weren't confusing in the future. She still wasn't sure how she'd managed to question her sexuality or why Roger was her boyfriend when she was so certain that her feelings ran only one way. Apparently sexuality was much more fluid within her than she realized.
Hearing about the other incidents that month had her more confused, but at least it seemed like the shift in her age wasn't going to be forever. Letting out a breath, she nodded. "So I just have to be like this for a little while, then. That's good to know." Which led her to a question for her sister. "Can I stay with you until I'm back to my normal self?" As nice and accommodating as Roger had been thus far, being with him and knowing she was his girlfriend was still very overwhelming.
--
Astoria wished she could do more to help her sister out, and could only hope that being there to comfort her was enough - even if she didn't have all the answers Daphne wanted or needed. For her own peace of mind it was a blessing that, as far as she knew, the magic that caused this would be gone soon enough.
"Sure, that's fine," she replied with a smile. It would be interesting having Daphne stay over, even if she was currently a teenager, when she hadn't lived in the flat for a few months now. "There's a spare room you can stay in, and if need be we can probably adjust some of my clothes to fit if you want," she told Daphne.
--
Daphne looked down at her clothes. They were hers and fit alright, but she couldn't stay in the one outfit for the duration of whatever magic was at play. Nodding, she let out a breath. "Alright," she agreed. "Thank you, Astoria," she added, biting her lower lip. "Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll all blow over pretty quickly." She wasn't going to hold her breath, but there was little else to do but wait and see.
