who ? Arran Higgs and Siobhan Davies.
when ? Thursday 4th May, after work.
where ? Beech Tree Corners, outside Godric's Hollow.
what ? Arran is looking for Max.
warnings/rating ? SFW.
status ? Ongoing.
Arran had never really had to actively keep secrets from people he was close to. He'd resisted telling his family and friends about Roger shagging Cariad, but given how fresh the breakup had been at the time, people hadn't really asked him about it, and he'd been able to just skirt the topic altogether. Not telling Chloe about Terence dating Siobhan and Max was proving much harder. Arran kept almost saying things which came too close to the truth, and every time he felt a little guilty and a little more sad that he had to keep Chloe out of the loop. He enjoyed talking to her, and he would have liked to talk to her about the truth of the situation, but he didn't feel like he could. If Chloe had just been his friend, Arran would've gone to Terence to ask if it was okay to tell her. But Chloe wasn't just Arran's friend - she was also Max's friend, and though Arran knew Max had told her he was gay (badly, as Chloe had come out thinking he was bi), he didn't know if that meant he was okay with her knowing about Terence.
So, feeling incredibly uneasy, Arran got Max's address off Gemma and apparated out to the house. He was convinced - as convinced as he'd been before Chloe's dinner party - that this was going to terribly. He was still going to try, though, because he really did want to tell Chloe. He didn't expect Max to see his point of view, certainly not immediately, but even if it took him weeks to come around, Arran was minutely hopeful that he might eventually do so. He squared his shoulders and knocked, feeling a flare of panic when his mind immediately went blank as to what he was actually going to say.
What he hadn't expected, or even thought about at all, was that Max might not answer the door. "Siobhan," he said, not remotely hiding his surprise. They'd met before, through Roger, but they didn't know each other well. "I was hoping to see Max."
