Today was the day! Evan was very excited. He'd been very excited last night, too, and then he'd fallen asleep and Evan was pretty sure he had been excited in his dreams, too. And now he was awake, still excited. It felt like how his birthday normally felt, where Evan's usual morning sleepiness was replaced with wide awake-ness because the excitement was too much to sleep through. Andrew, sleeping next to him, was still, in fact, sleeping. Evan's mum had asked him if he wanted to spend the night at her house, because apparently that was a thing people did before getting married? But Evan had pointed out that the reason he wanted to marry Andrew was because he liked spending nights with him, waking up next to Andrew in the morning. Why would he not do that on the day they were going to get married? It seemed silly. And besides, how would Evan be able to share his excitement with Andrew if he wasn't there?
"Andrew," Evan said, rolling towards his boyfriend, pressing a kiss against Andrew's cheek, just under his eye. "Andrew," he repeated. "Wake up! We're getting married!" Evan announced and then paused. "Not for like another five hours, though," he admitted. The ceremony was in the early afternoon and according to Evan's watch it was only eight in the morning now. "But then! Then we're getting married," Evan said pressing in closer to Andrew so he could kiss him more properly. "Come on, get up, I'll make you getting-married breakfast. It's like normal breakfast, but you eat it on the day you get married," Evan explained.
