Marlene was somewhat suspicious of the scones she'd made. They were cheese and bacon savoury scones and they looked... like scones. Nice, round shaped, touch of brown at the top. They were scones. Which obviously meant that Marlene couldn't trust them because Marlene's speciality was baking things that didn't look like how they were meant to, or at least didn't look nice. These scones looked lovely. So obviously Marlene needed someone to test them. She didn't much trust her own judgement, so instead, she packed them up in a washed out ice cream box and headed across Bethany to Jareth's flat. He might be out, she realised half-way there, but if that was the case it was hardly like she lived very far. She could also always try to feed them to Ron next door, like Jareth, he seemed to accept any and all food offered.
Once she'd made it to Jareth's, Marlene knocked, waiting to see if he was in. She could've owled, but it was too late for that now. When Jareth did turn out to be home, Marlene smiled at him widely, bringing up the ice cream box, shaking it. "I've got some scones I needed tested," she informed Jareth. "They've come out looking too nice, so they might taste horrible," she warned him, following Jareth into the flat and through to the kitchen where Marlene set the box down. "You might need some butter to go on them," she commented. "They're savoury scones," she added.
