Evan's work on Arran's house was going well and was ahead of schedule. Given, Evan's work usually was ahead of schedule because he scheduled it slightly over what he assumed he needed, just so he wouldn't be behind schedule. So tonight he'd mostly finished off the extension of the living room and its merging with the kitchen, but he needed to fix up the light fixtures, which Evan didn't want to do straight away, since the magic in the walls needed to settle. It didn't need to be left for very long, so Evan felt he could definitely get it done tonight, except he had about an hour to spare. He could've apparated home, of course, but Andrew had a rehearsal and as much as Evan enjoyed hanging out with Jim and Wigglebutt, they weren't exactly the best conversationalists.
Conveniently, however, Evan had realised that Padma lived literally next door to Arran, so he thought he'd pop over, see if she was in. If not, he could always go home anyway. When Padma opened the door, Evan smiled at her. "I'm doing building work next door and I have an hour to spare," he informed her. "Tea?" He half-asked, half-offered, since it would be Padma who would need to provide the tea. "It's okay if you're busy, I know I shouldn't just randomly show up, but since I was next door, I figured I might as well," he explained. Evan really wasn't a fan of just random drop-ins, but he'd also be perfectly happy for Padma to say that she was too busy to entertain him since this really wasn't planned.
