"I was never very chatty, anyway." Robert replied. It was true, his voice sounded strange to his ears, he hadn't had much cause to speak lately. He was very quiet around Jenna, he couldn't wait for her to understand the gravity of their situation before training her to not make noise. Silence was their greatest protection, which was why Robert was always so reluctant to use his gun. It was good that they were walking slowly. Robert was very, very careful with his steps. He couldn't have Abe see the slight limp with which he walked, not until he had secured his place in the group.
He checked the magazine as he walked along beside Abe, making sure that the clip was full before letting his hand hang at his side. He glanced to Abe, "Doesn't it seem normal to you, too? It feels to me like it's been decades and decades of this." He rolled his shoulders back. "I'm glad I found you now. There's things I have access to that I couldn't handle carrying myself before." He cracked a grin. "Military grade riot gear, for one thing. I could only manage to get a few pieces out of lockup for myself, but with seven of us, I'm betting we could get the whole lot out." He let out a soft chuckle. "You ever seen a walker get hit with tear gas? It's entertaining. The bastards twitch like epileptic hummingbirds."
