Who: Vienne Heroux (vienne) and Alec Winters (nohesitation) with mentioning of Rocco Bassi
When: April 23rd
Where: In the woods in North Vinter
What: Just Alec rescuing Vienne. No big deal.
Warnings: Violence and implications of torture
Rating: PG-13
As soon as Alec heard that Vienne was among the captives, something inside him broke. For days he did his utmost to find a trace of her and the others, but failed miserably. When he was about to despair because he didn't know whether his beloved was alive or not, the Academy's Forensics team found a small hint as to where the missing employees might be kept. ot someone who liked working in teams, he decided to do his own thing and went to the part of Vinter (where the special plant was from) on his own -- well, not completely alone, but together with Vienne's brother who was worried sick about her, too.
The two men scoured most of the forest until they found something that could possibly serve as hideout for a group of people and their captives. Both of them were experienced fighters and knew how to approach a building like this. Alec and Rocco exchanged looks and agreed on the separating tactic. Rocco went behind the building to check out if there was something while Alec checked the front. He discovered a small door which led into the building and decided to enter it. Inside it was dark and it took a few moments for Alec to adjust his eyes to the darkness. He was standing in some kind of hallways with a staircase that led to the second floor, Alec guessed. Sounds could be heard from the second floor and he carefully went up the stairs - anxious not to make a sound himself.
The door to one of the rooms was opened and much to his surprise, Alec could see Vienne in there. She was sitting right across the door with her hands tied behind her back and bruises all over her face. None of the capturers seemed to be around, so he sneaked to the room as quietly as possible, being extra careful in case of one of the capturers being around. "Vienne," he whispered as he crouched in front of her. "Are you okay?" The other captives were forgotten for the moment.
---
One eye was swollen shut, red and glaringly obvious that a fist had been taken to it- more than once. The other eye flickered open and surprise registered before Vienne formed a reply: “I'm not looking my best right now, maybe come back later.” The tone was dry and brittle, not having had access to water for an extended period of time. It made her head feel light and each word rung out of her awkwardly.
On the scale of what had happened to most people, Vienne was fine, she was more than fine really. Nothing broken, they had dangled her about, pulled her from the bottom up, stretching her limbs until bruises appeared. Her whole body hurt, but what she thought of most was how dirty she was. Soiled with blood and some less than pleasant body fluids.
It wasn’t really a state she wanted Alec of all people to see her in. Not that she’d want anyone to see her like this to begin with: VIenne had enough issues already with being a dominating and strong woman. She didn’t like to rely on others, much less indicate weakness or be caught off guard. She thought of Oliver who was around here somewhere and she thought of her brothers.
Nope, not a single one she would entrust herself to in this state.

Seeing her like this - with her eye swollen and her body dirty and bruised - broke something in Alec. Before entering the building she was kept in, there had been worry about Vienne - worry that she might not be alive anymore or that something even worse than a swollen eye had happened to her. Now rage mingled with the worry and Alec promised to himself that none of the capturers would survive unscathed. He would kill them one after the other - making sure they would feel the pain they had caused Vienne and himself. "Darling, you look beautiful," Alec replied quietly, scolding himself for not thinking about bringing water with him. He should have thought about it.
Alec briefly looked around to check on the other captives in the room. Vienne didn't look as bad as most of them, but she was still hurt and dirty. He couldn't imagine how hard and painful the past days must have been for all kidnapped Academy members and he felt somewhat ashamed that these sick people had managed to kidnap so many innocents. He, as well as all the other Academy members, should have prevented that.
Frankly, Alec didn't care how she looked or smelled at all at this moment. All he wanted, was her to be safe and sound. Vienne didn't have much of a choice in this regard, anyway. Only Rocco and Alec were around to save them, though more rescue team members were on their way. He loved her dominating nature, but sometimes, she had to rely on others as well and this was one of the moments she had to do it. "I'll get you out of here. Somehow." Alec promised.

There was a faint smile at his compliment, erasing for a moment the tension that overpowered her expressions. It didn’t last very long though, Vienne clenched her jaw, “Don’t worry about getting me out, Alec, just kill them. Kill. Them. All.” Typical Vienne really, why escape when you could get rid of the problem there and then.
Either way, one thing was true in all this: she trusted Alec to kill them. That meant something, and that was the extent of how willing she was to rely on others. No one was going to see her cringe when she saw her own reflection, and no one was going to hold her at night if she had nightmares or flashes.
There were worse things out there and Vienne wouldn’t be broken like this.
---
The faint smile brightened his mood a bit and Alec admired her for being able to smile in a situation like this. She was a true fighter. For a moment the desire to kiss her was unbelievably strong, but Alec forced himself to focus. Kissing Vienne had to wait until they were both safe outside, so instead he caressed her cheek softly before saying: “Trust me, I will kill them. But first, I have to get you out of here.” With that, he took out the army knife from his pocket and started cutting the rope around her wrists.
And how he would kill them. Alec would take his time with all of the capturers and let out his aggression on all of them. They had hurt his precious Vienne, so he would hurt them. He knew that she didn’t trust anyone to kill people and felt honored that he belonged to the few she trusted in doing it.This meant a lot to him. However, she would have to rely on him a little more because he intended to hold her at night when she had nightmares or flashes. Alec would make sure that she was alright, even if that meant that he had to check on her 24/7.

The skin burned beneath the bindings of the rope, but she couldn’t help but sigh in relief when her hands were free. Her limbs were still too pained and awkward for her to do anything but slump. Vienne would happily argue that he should kill everyone first and then look after her but by this stage she found that her mouth was too dry to even muster up a vague answer. Instead she gave him a little look.
Everything would be fine she supposed.
And maybe it was a bit premature to let down her guard this far, but Vienne couldn’t help it, she was exhausted and in pain and she smelled like sewers and blood. She shut her one good eye and allowed herself to give into darkness.

Alec couldn’t imagine in how much pain she must be and it hurt him. He wished he would take over the pain for her, so that she would feel great and happy, but unfortunately this was not within his power. All he could do was picking her up and carrying her out of the building, which ultimately did, but not before letting the other captives know that he would come back and save them, too. Alec didn’t know most of them, but he would definitely not let innocents stay in the hands of psychopathic kidnappers.
It surprised him a little that none of the capturers had shown up, but he soon heard what the reason for this was. As he carried Vienne through the hallway and down the staircase, he heard voices coming from a room on the first floor of the building. Alec supposed it were two of them, but he couldn’t be sure because both of them were yelling and their voices sounded rather similar. From the parts he actually understood, Alec gathered that at least one of the employees must have disappeared and naturally, the kidnappers weren’t happy about this at all and wondered how it was possible. One of them said something about a door slammed shut and the other claimed that a chair was doing weird things - Alec used their moment of inattentiveness to walk out the door, still carrying the unconscious woman in his arms. He laid her down on a moss-covered part of the forest floor, right behind a big boulder and hoped that nobody would find her there until he got back. Alec hated to leave her behind like this, but she needed to rest and the kidnappers needed an appropriate revenge.
Rage overpowered any other feelings at this point and he basically stormed back to the building, ran up the stairs and entered the room he had heard the two voices coming from. Maybe his actions were a bit blue-eyed and maybe Alec should have waited for Rocco, but rage was driving him, encouraging him to pay back what the kidnappers had done to Vienne. She wanted him to kill them and he was so going to do that.
None of the capturers had noticed him so far and it was almost too easy to kill the first one. Alec simply sneaked up behind him without a word and cut his throat. Just like this. The guy hadn’t even noticed what happened to him at first and didn’t stop talking, so his last words came out gurgled and accompanied by a gush of blood. The other one - driven by the sudden death of his companion - attacked Alec directly. He somehow managed to twist an arm behind Alec’s back and it seemed like he was suddenly in charge of the situation. But Alec wasn’t stupid. He was an experienced fighter, after all and knew what he had to do. When Alec tried to break free, he basically heard the bone of his right arm break, but it didn’t matter. He was so pumped with adrenaline that he didn’t feel the pain and was still able to attack his opponent with the knife he held in his left hand. Being left-handed came in handy in situations like this, he thought with a small smile as he stabbed the guy’s midsection repeatedly. “This is for hurting Vienne, asshole” Alec told the man, who was now crouching on the floor with his arms wrapped around his stomach. He wasn’t dead yet, but he would soon be because Alec had hit important organs with his stabs. Accomplished, Alec kicked him one last time before he turned to leave.
He felt better and less aggressive as he left the building again. Alec was aware that here were still captives in there, but Rocco or the other rescue team members had to take care of them -- Vienne was his top priority at the moment. She was still where he’d left her, still unconscious, but still beautiful. Picking her up and carrying her was much harder this time since his arm was broken and hurt like hell, but Alec ignored the pain and trudged through the woods with Vienne in his arms. He managed to carry her to the local hospital, where competent doctors were able to take care of her bruises and his broken arm.
Anything else had to wait until the next day.
