Draco had his doubts that his father would be glad to see him after he caught wind of the news. He felt sad at the distance it might cause between him and his family, but at the same time, he knew he needed to make his own decisions. And he was in love with Hermione Granger; there was no other choice for him. He wasn't willing to hide how he felt for the rest of his life and pretend to be alone.
"Yes, I think it's rather a good idea too, seeing as there are several people from our world here now. I think they would find it useful, and I learned quite a bit about it at school. Even here, I've been reading up on it at the library," Draco explained to her. He took a sip of his own tea around the same time that she did, then held the cup gently in his palms over his lap. "I'd say so," he answered, swallowing back his fear. "The other day I ran into Harry Potter at the beach. We had an... interesting conversation. And then there's Hermione Granger, another Gryffindor. You know, the one who always made better marks than me at school." His father had never forgiven him for letting a mudblood beat him in every subject, so there was no doubt Narcissa had not forgotten her.
