Brooke gave a little breathy laugh, trying to act calm. At least he hadn't be all 'My name is Klaus and I've vant to suck your vlood', although she wasn't stupid enough to think that someone couldn't lie about their name. Still, she couldn't just go running away from someone who could be completely harmless. She'd just make herself look like a mad woman. Besides, her first few weeks with Damon had taught her that there wasn't any point in running. Her enemies would always be faster and stronger. She just had to be brave.
She was still feeling her back pocket, trying to find her phone when she remembered tucking it away into her handbag. There was no way she could get to it without him noticing. She just hoped she wouldn't need it. "Well, Nick," she said, forcing a smile. "I guess since we're not strangers any more, I can tell you my name too. I'm Peyton," she said, using the first name that popped into her head.
