"When we first met, I didn't have any way to prove I was the same person," Ariel said, figuring that telling him part of the story would be okay for now. "I had lost my voice. At times, it seemed as though you were still interested in me," she said, fondly recalling their dance after dinner, "but at other times, you were obsessed with finding the voice. I didn't know how to tell you it was me."
