Brooke tried not to wonder what he was doing while he was gone, but found it hard not to let her mind run away with her. When he came back he looked... better. More alive. More colour in his cheeks. She understood. She looked down, a little embarrassed, not letting on that she'd noticed anything at all.
"If we eat here we could watch a movie?" she suggested, nodding towards the television in the corner. She wasn't too fussed about watching anything, but she thought it was probably more sensible to eat out here than in his room...where she'd just be reminded of all the other things they used to do in there. And all the things that he'd done to her in there, against her will. No. It was definitely better to stay out here. For now.
