Once they were in Contessa's room, away from the ears of her roommates, she turned to Elijah. "I had not seen you close up in quite some time," she told him. She'd only heard of the plan to hand over the doppelganger through a source who knew a source and so on. She hadn't even been sure if it had been accurate until she had gotten there and seen Katerina herself, from a distance. "You and..." she stopped herself from calling Klaus her favorite nickname--the half-breed. She knew that Elijah had loved him nonetheless and she worked to keep that from straining her relationship with her favorite brother. "Niklaus had done well to keep information from me about your plans. At least as far as telling me personally."
Her eyes studied him. He had to have known all along that she didn't intend to let the sacrifice happen on her watch. But despite her blatant opposition of their plans, he never changed his attitude toward her. "Did he succeed?" she asked the question that was so burning in her mind. Though Amorisa's talk of having a doppelganger in 2011 made her think that maybe not. At least not the first time.
