Katherine smiled, tracing circles on the skin of his chest as he played gently with her hair. She was glad to hear he was coping well with hearing about the future. Still, that wouldn't be his future; she'd make sure of it. She had messed up in 1864, and she wasn't going to let it happen again. "Of course I wouldn't. I never meant things to happen the way they did," she told him softly, deciding to be honest with him. "I wanted you to become a vampire, yes, but I wanted it to be your decision. And I wanted to be there with you when it happened. It broke my heart to leave you."
