WHO: Katherine and Damon (savethesouth) WHERE: Starting outside the apartment blocks WHEN: After this WHAT: Damon shows Katherine around RATING: R STATUS: Complete
Katherine leaned impatiently against the wall of the apartment block, one high heeled boot pressed back against the wall, her arms folded over her chest. She didn't like waiting for anyone, but she'd make an exception for Damon - the sweet, innocent, human Damon. She'd almost forgotten what a sweetheart he used to be back in 1864, when she'd first fallen for his good looks and playful nature. She knew she was stupid for messing around with both brothers back then, but, in her defence, she'd never expected it to turn out the way it had. She'd wanted them all to get along and live happily together, but if she'd had to choose, it would have been Damon, every time. As it was, she didn't have time to get to that point. The people of Mystic Falls rose up against the vampires and forced her to leave. She wanted to take Damon with her so badly, but it just wasn't safe enough. She had been running for nearly five hundred years and if Damon had gone with her, like she'd known he would have if she'd asked, he would have been in even more danger than he was out there in the world on his own. She knew he was resourceful, that he'd be able to take care of himself until they were able to be together again, but then he'd gone and fallen for that little goody two shoes, Elena, and nothing she said seemed to have any impact on him.
But this Damon was the Damon she remembered, the Damon she loved. He was so sweet and vulnerable - she wanted to make him smile again, see that fun, flirty Damon she remembered.
She'd said she had no reason to lie to him any more, and that was mostly true, but she had told a tiny white lie. She didn't really want to see this place, she just wanted an excuse to see him. Still, she decided that, because it wasn't a malicious lie, it didn't really count. Now she was just impatient for him to get down here and meet her. True, she had used vampire speed to get down from her apartment after talking to him, so she couldn't blame him for taking a little longer on his human legs. Still, she couldn't wait to see him again, relearn him.
