Nikita didn't like a lot of what she had been reading and seeing in the place. It made the most sense to her to have Michael close, so she didn't have to worry about him. She was certain he'd already considered asking her, but hadn't done so yet because this was new territory for both of them and he knew how she could be. Nikita wasn't the kind of girl that needed to be protected. Michael knew that, and he respected it. And Nikita was grateful for that.
While she waited for him in the hall, she was sure to stay on alert because you never knew when something might happen. Division may not have existed here, but that didn't mean it wasn't ever in her mind. They had done a lot of damage to a lot of lives, and Nikita still wasn't done with paying them back. But all of that was put on hold since they were trapped here.
She smiled back at Michael as he opened the door. She walked into the apartment, and closed the door behind her. "I thought you might be hungry." Even if he didn't have a lot to pack, it would still be nice to have a meal together. She set the takeout on the counter in the kitchen for the moment and then headed back to his room to help him with his packing. For the briefest of moments, it felt so domestic...so normal, and that made Nikita smile.
