Peeta took a deep breath, leaning back against the bench again. "A lot of things, really," he said, trying to evade the question. It was enough to make him sick. "The Victory Tour. There were threats of uprisings in the Districts, and President Snow told you that you had to try to stop it. Make everyone believe you were crazy in love when you held out those berries; that you weren't defying the Capitol," he said with a sigh. He hated this part.
"But, we failed," he said, not wanting Katniss to feel like she had to take the entire blane for the situation. "Nothing we could have done, and believe me, we did it all... could hve stopped the people from rebelling. I even proposed." He tried to give her a hint of a smile, but it was feeble, and well he knew it. Delivering bad news to Katniss was like ripping his own arm off; actually that part would be preferrable to this.
