Walking down the aisle with Damon hadn't been as horrible as Caroline had initially thought it would be, but she wasn't as mad at him anymore either. After their talk at the beach party one of the Elenas had thrown, she had agreed to be friends, but still kept her distance so that he wouldn't mistake her for being ready for something else. Being the wedding day, however, it was hard to keep her distance.
She knew he was still interested. The dog he had gotten her was evidence of that. Yes, he had told her that he understood the gift was a friendly gesture, but she was aware he hoped that there would be more one day. She still wasn't sure what she wanted.
Hearing the voice, she turned her attention to Damon and his outstretched hand. She placed her hand in his as an acceptance of his offer to dance and stood as she excused herself from the table. After that, she walked with him to dance.
