Draco had been incredibly bored all evening. He was feeling lazy too, and those two things were never a good combination. He'd eaten macaroni and cheese for dinner and put on his pajama pants. Then, to further defy who he was (if that were possible), he settled into his room to watch silly Youtube videos on the laptop. He'd wanted company, but he was on rather iffy terms with Blaise. The Pansys might have agreed to come over, but Draco wasn't sure whether or not that was a good idea. Perhaps if he got drunk. He still didn't want to talk about what had happened between him and Hermione. So that left Hermione... true, he could have invited her. He wasn't sure if he was ready to. He would have to face her eventually. After all, he did like her, and he had gotten her a kitten. It only made sense to see her again.
Draco stayed behind his computer for a bit longer and was finally thinking of getting off his arse to call her when the knock sounded at the door. He hastily threw on a plan white t-shirt in addition to the striped white and blue pants he already had on and went to answer the door.
He wasn't totally surprised that it was Hermione, but at the same time, he was. Draco could tell her smile was feigned and immediately wondered what was upsetting her. He felt guilty for not speaking to her sooner and wished he were wearing something dressier. "Hi. Er, please come in," he told her, stepping back a bit so she could cross the threshold. "Anything to drink? I've just made tea." He wondered why she was here but refrained from asking. If they were going steady (he wasn't sure what they were doing yet) she had every right to visit him randomly like this.
