Who: Jake and Alice What: Seeing each other again after a long time. When: Backdated to Wednesday night. Where: Alice's apartment Status: Incomplete Rating: TBD
The smug smile stayed on Jake's face as he dressed in his usual style, a graphic tee and ripped jeans, and went along to Alice's apartment. He was happy that she seemed keen on seeing him. It felt like ages since their last meeting. He felt nervous once he faced her room numbers, and caught a bit of his reflection in them. Ugh, his hair looked like crap. He wished he had a comb handy. But he didn't want to stand there and primp in front of her door, so he raised his hand to knock gently, three times, and waited anxiously for her answer.
Alice had been rather seclusive lately, though there was a reason for that. She'd been having plenty of visions and each one was freaking her out. She knew that visions had a way of sorting themselves out but none the less it still worried her to know the future of several people upon the island, one had already come true. She hadn't even tried to reach out to them, perhaps if she had the woman wouldn't have been taken and tortured. Even if she was returned, rescued rather. Seeing Jacob was a very welcome escape from her reality and so she'd asked him to come down as soon as possible. She'd missed his company.
Each time they saw one another she found herself more and more drawn to him, her vision was slowly but surely coming true about them. Alice had heard his footsteps the moment he'd turned into the hallway though she hadn't moved until he had actually knocked. She was still practicing to ask like a human, more so around her room-mates. Skipping to the door in a pair of dark wash jeans and a simple grey v-neck Alice opened the door with her familiar smile. "Jacob!" Ushering him inside before closing the door and turning around Alice's smile grew a little further.
Jacob smiled from ear to ear at the sight of her. She seemed much happier to see him than she had the last time. "Where have you been all this time, Alice?" he asked conversationally, not really expecting her to give him the truth. He was sure she was just freaked out by him. And he had been freaked too, seeing the other versions of himself. Especially the one who was having a sexual relationship with Bella and Edward's daughter. She was only, what, 7? In human years? Something about it was so disturbing and wrong. Jacob hesitated a moment before pulling Alice into a friendly hug, not daring to hold it for too long since he wasn't sure how used to the thought of touching him she was.
"Oh you know...around." Waving a hand Alice's lips kept the smile. It never seemed to fade when she was around him. "Here, actually." She admitting before squealing as he hugged her. She was definitely used to Jacob's attitude, scent and strength by now. It was welcoming and she found his appearance incredibly handsome the more and more time the two spent together. "Have you missed me Jacob?" Smiling up at him once he let go Alice gestured into the apartment. "Do you want anything to drink or eat?"
"I have. A lot," he replied, admiring how well her pale skin went with her choice of outfit. "Did you miss me?" A little smirk came across his lips. He followed her slowly into the apartment, thinking that a little food and drink did sound good, if she was offering. As a wolf, he found himself perpetually hungry or thirsty. "Sure. What do you have?" he asked, trying to get over his self-consciousness about eating around her. If they were going to be together in the future, he would just have to get used to that.
"Yeah," Alice nodded, hiding her gaze for a moment before looking back up to him swiftly. "I did miss you Jacob, quite a bit." She wasn't going to lie to him. It was pointless to do so when she truly had missed everything about him in the short period of time that they'd been away from one another. "We've got water, soda, milk and some liquor." Darting around the apartment gracefully she stopped in front of the fridge, bending to open it and peer inside. "Uhmmm as for eating. We've got some chicken, fresh buns and muffins." Looking back up at him Alice tilted her head to wait.
He simply smiled in answer to her response, satisfied with it. They were certainly getting somewhere if she admitted to missing him. He watched as she moved about with all the grace of a dancing master, feeling envious for a moment. Being so big, he felt like his own movements were huge and clunky compared to hers. He followed the best he could to the kitchen and considered for a few moments. "Soda and a muffin," he finally decided, "please."
"Alright." Nodding sharply Alice grabbed a soda and straightened back up, closing the fridge. "Here." Handing him the soda with another smile she moved further into the kitchen and hoped up onto the counter, watching him. "There's blueberry, carrot, chocolate and banana muffins." She nodded to the basket beside her as she swung her legs slowly while watching him intently. "What have you been doing Jacob?"
"Thank you," he said, popping the top on his soda. He considered a moment before picking a blueberry muffin from the basket and unwrapped it slowly, not wanting to let his usual wolfish eating habits come out in front of her just yet. "Noticing all the weirdness, mainly," he answered. "There's an extra me around now." Jacob rolled his eyes. "As if we need another one. Apparently he's an angry jerk, like the other one," he quipped.
Alice continued to swing her legs slightly as she sat upon the counter, watching him. "The weirdness?" She tilted her head, listening to his words. It seemed that she had missed out on a little excitement. "So that makes.. three of you now?" She liked Jacob ether way but frankly she was content with the Jacob standing before and saw no use for several versions of him. Just as she saw no use for several of herself or anyone else that now lived upon the strange island. "Speaking of weirdness. I haven't seen or heard from my family in several days. It's a little un-nerving."
Jacob moved into one of the kitchen chairs to take a seat, and looked back up at her after swallowing a small bite of the muffin. He set his food and drink down on the table. "Yes, three. And one of us has imprinted on Bella's daughter." He gave a small sigh and shook his head. "Really? You... you think they're all right?" he asked, immediately suspecting something fishy if Alice hadn't heard from them. He thought they were all very close, the talk-every-day type of family.
Alice watched his every movement. He was like this new and simply breathtaking thing that she constantly had to watch in fear of her missing something remarkable. "Wait." Alice shook her head as she turned a little on the counter to face him better. "You imprinted on Nessie?" She wasn't from that world but she had a vision of the child and had been told numerous things about her. "Is she here?" The last time Alice had spoken to the future Bella, Nessie hadn't been on the island. Though Alice hadn't truly been out and about for a good week so things could have easily changed. "I'm sure they are Jacob. I wouldn't have known if something was up."
Jacob didn't mind her watching him at all, even with his self-consciousness about eating. He just made sure to take small bites rather than gobbling the whole muffin and drinking the soda in one sip, as his packmates would have done. "The other me did," he corrected her, with a tiny smile. "Yeah, she's here and apparently grown." He didn't want to think about that relationship. "I hope you're right. I'd hate for anything to happen." After another bite of the muffin, "Edward and I were actually getting along..."
Alice nodded as he spoke once more, resisting the urge to shrug. "That's..." She made a small face unsure of what exactly to say in the situation. "A little.. weird." She finally settled on those words before moving off of the counter in a swift motion and moving to lean against the kitchen table, watching him once more. "Vampire's don't age. How could she be grown?" That truly puzzled Alice. She would have thought about it for quite some time had Jacob not spoke up once more. "I'm sure they're fine. " Nodding Alice smiled. "You and Edward were getting along? Oh do tell."
Jacob nodded as he finished off the muffin. Indeed, the whole Nessie thing was weird, almost scary to him. "Apparently she does... but she stops after a certain point, so she'll look 17 forever somehow." He shrugged. "Don't ask me how that works, because I have no idea." He watched her, pleased that she had moved a bit closer. "Well, I sent Edward a message on the forums, after you had told them all about... me. And I said I was sorry that versions of me kept imprinting on his family, and that I would try not to be a jerk like the others." Jake smiled sheepishly. "And uh... I guess he liked it that I made a move to be polite, and that I was worried for your happiness because he wasn't talking to you then."
"So she hasn't actually aged up to be seventeen?" Alice arched a brow. "Mentally and emotionally, I mean." It was weird. She'd never heard of something like that happening, ever. It was a definite shock for her frankly. And as to how Edward had managed not to kill Bella and the baby once she was born, Alice didn't know. Not because she doubted Edward's control but because it was their natural instinct to eat bloody things. As disgusting as that sounded. "That's really sweet Jacob." Offering another soft smile in his directoin Alice shifted a little. " Edward must have really appreciated that then."
"Like I said, I think she is seven in human years, but don't ask me how that works." He gave a clueless chuckle. "I think she is supposed to be mature as an adult, though, by this point. I only talked to her briefly on the forums, but she seemed okay." Jacob grinned and felt a blush rise to his cheeks when she expressed approval of his actions toward Edward. "I think he did. He suggested that maybe we can even be friends, even if he isn't fond of the other mes. I said I would like that." He did want to become friends with her family, not to kiss up or anything, but because he found them all interesting. They weren't that bad as long as he did his best to act civil toward them, and in the case of Edward, they were even... nice.
Alice made another face at the thought of her niece being seven years old and sexually active with..well with another Jacob. "I seriously need to speak to my brother about that." That was beyond disturbing. "On the outside perhaps." Alice looked at him for a moment as he mentioned that he spoke to Nessie. "And? She seemed sane? Not like a seven year old?" Of course Alice caught the blush instantly and found it incredibly amusing, though adorable at the same time. "Honestly?" She leaned forward a little, smiling at him. "I think you two would get along quite well if you put aside the whole.. anger issues you two have had in the past. "
Jacob thought for a moment. He hadn't spoken to Nessie a whole lot, but she did seem sort of put out. "She didn't seem too happy, but that could just be my misunderstanding from only communicating with her by the Internet. She didn't seem to want to talk to me much, actually. But no, she didn't seem exactly like a seven-year-old." He was glad this topic interested her, because it certainly did him, even if it was a disturbed kind of interested. "Yeah, I think we would too," Jake admitted. "He's a sensible guy and... he cares about you a lot, as a brother. I like that."
Simply nodding Alice pushed back to lean against the kitchen table once more. "So it would seem." She wasn't that interested in hearing about her niece possibly fucking another Jacob. More so if she was only seven years old in reality, despite looking like a seventeen year old. There was so many things wrong with that situation. "She's got her mother and father here and apparently her boyfriend so I'm sure she's just fine Jacob." Leaving it at that Alice laughed as he once more spoke of Edward. "You're both very headstrong and incredibly stubborn." She added.
