Who: Damon whatyoumademe and Brooke prettygirldavis What: Damon arrives and Brooke meets him first When: He's looking for his apartment. Where: Near the apartment buildings. Rating: Not too high, I don't think.
Damon had just jumped into the water, but as he came back up out of the water, he landed on solid ground. Actually, more like solid floor he was inside a building, but he was still dripping wet. The man at the desk handed him a paper and a key without saying a word and sent Damon on his way. No explanation as to how he got here, no answers how to get back. Damon had asked, of course. But he got no answers. Finally, he walked out of the office and out to the warm weather. He unfolded the paper to find it was a map with a name and apartment number. The map marked clearly his starting point and showed him how to get to the apartments.
He walked along until he found two apartment buildings across the street from one another. He looked at the two names--Mount Olympus and The Underworld. While he liked the sound of Mount Olympus--he was even more a god than before, after all. He was immortal thanks to his dear baby brother. The Underworld sounded more like a place he belonged in. After all, Stefan had condemned him to an eternity of hell. That was what life without Katherine was. Damon had been all for being a vampire when Katherine was alive. When he could be with her. But now, he wanted no part of it. No Katherine, no point in living.
That didn't mean that he was going to mope and starve himself anymore. Or even feed off animals as Stefan liked to do. Stefan had wanted him to embrace his vampirism and that was exactly what he had done. For the short time he had been a vampire, he had gained a lot of strength and Power. Sure, he couldn't take down someone like Katherine, and even that Lucius fellow was a lot to take. But to humans, he was their worst nightmare. Or second worst as Lucius had proven.
He felt no loss for his wife. He had only compelled his way into the lives of the Sutherlands for the money. The dowry he had had to return for Margaret to agree to help them. That was what he felt loss for. He had had a grand plan to run off with the Sutherlands money, and he wasn't even going to let their unexpected deaths ruin that. But it still did. Why did Margaret have to be able to resist his compulsion? Why did she have to be a witch?
He was still lost in his thoughts while he stared at the sign for The Underworld apartments. They weren't his, but he wasn't really paying attention to where he was at the moment. His thoughts were about a month back and possibly very far away from where he stood.
