Stefan smiled, glad Elena had friends to talk to here. He wished he could be there for all the Elenas but that wasn't fair on his one. He had chosen to be with her, and only her, and he was going to stick to that. It made him feel a little better than he knew the other Elenas weren't too miserable or lonely here. Mostly there were enough people they all knew to go around, even if some of them were slightly different to the versions they knew.
"Exactly," Stefan replied, nodding slowly. "I mean, she's 'Elena' but she was born in the 1700s and turned in Paris by someone she got involved with." It was uncanny how someone who had experienced such an alien life could be so much like the Elena he knew. Still, it was strange how everything worked around here. "I don't know," Stefan said truthfully. He supposed that was the most likely option, but there was no way of knowing for sure. Elena hadn't heard of a curse, but neither had they at Founders Day and that was when she was from, even if it was in another world. "I guess we'll just have to wait and see."
Reaching the bar, Stefan walked over to the door and pulled it open, holding it for Elena. "After you," he said with a smile, not wanting to let his thoughts linger on maybes about another world. This was hang out time with Elena - his friend - and he didn't want to ruin it by being a serious vampire. "This place does good food," he added as he caught the smell of grilling meat on the air from inside the bar.
